Vision |
Memphis Elementary Parent’s Club is organized for the purpose of supporting the education of children at Memphis Elementary School by fostering relationships among the school, parents, caregivers, teachers, and staff, while also promoting a positive school and community culture.
|
MEPC’s goals are to complement the school curriculum with additional opportunities for parents, caregivers, teachers, staff, and students to learn, socialize, communicate, and grow.
|
We have given back over $13,000 to Memphis Elementary School this year. Thank you for everyone who helped us with this amazing accomplishment. Whether you had a big part, or a small part in contributing, we couldn’t have done all this without you.
What is MEPC and how does it work?
I thought I'd take a quick minute and type up something about MEPC, what it is, what we do, and how you can be a part of our group.
First and foremost, the goal of MEPC is to support the education of our students, support the staff with their needs, and help foster positive community relationships. Some of the ways we do this is by fundraising, hosting events, supporting student organizations, staff appreciation, and usually one big support project that varies each year. Last year we bought $200 in books for each teacher's classroom library.
We can't do this alone, and whether you take a large active role in the group, or a more minor role, every little bit helps, and we appreciate it all. We have lots of different ways you can help, and our website is how we will be communicating this information. We will be updating these needs throughout the year, so don't forget to check back frequently.
One change we made with our bylaw update was the way voting happened for our board. Any chairperson for MEPC will have the right to vote for our next executive board. I want to take a minute to define chairperson. To MEPC, chairperson is not a big, huge, scary role. It's just a person who takes on a responsibility that is a bit above and beyond an average volunteer. So, this could be something as simple as designing and printing off flyers for our events, to counting box tops at home, to helping to get donations all counts. We'll be updating frequently with our chairperson needs in the volunteer and events tabs.
Please consider signing up and helping out in any way you can this year. We can't do it alone, and we appreciate your help, in whatever capacity that may be. It's a proven fact that parent involvement leads to student success.
Thank you and we look forward to another great year!
